Surgent must be paying a lot of money for these reviews. I have purchased 2 other review courses after Surgent for FAR- Gleim and Ninja CPA Review. I do not recomment Surgent.

1. Little things are important - like have a timer visible when working MCQs, being able to mark MCQs for later review/as a favorite. The flashcard app is totally random, with no way to mark as "go away". There are > 600 items and I will never know if I made it through them all. Same ones repeat.

2. Website not functioning- NOT COOL AT ALL. I paid a LOT of money for this and it is unusable on multiple occasions, I estimate 5% of the time.

3 Cuustomer service I got with my complaints was, "sorry!"

4. Updates reduced the usefulness of videos and made my notes and bookmarks disappear. Yes, notes I had taken on the videos disappeared. Also, the videos used to have a content outline and optional bookmarks, but these went away as well. Now, you have no way to know where in a video a certain part you might need is. Lame.

5. I had to take an initial exam that took THIRTEEN hours before I could even start studying. Not an effective use of my time AT ALL.

6. Books - there is too much superfluous info in the books, making it take way too long to get through material. GLEIM books are 1000% better, with a logical outline format, bold print, etc. Key Boyd is wrong about GLEIM having too much content.

7. I purchased this program based on what I saw during the trial period, and then that changed. Not cool.

9. The questions are odd sometimes, as in, don't seem well written. As in, unclear. Not the majority, but enough that is pretty frustraring.

10. Other programs are using adaptive technology. It's not that revolutionary.

11. On a positive note - I liked the videos. They were 50% more useful witht the content outline, notes and bookmarks. They are now available on podcast format, and I believe this is why the online format changed (it happened the same day).

I failed using Becker and Gleim, but I put in 15 hours to study for BEC and passed! Plus it is half off when you fail using another program!

As an accounting major student, I was on consistent hunt for a CPA program for myself until I went to the meeting with Elizabeth at Pace. I was so impressed with the whole idea, concept and system of Surgent. It’s so promising and revolutionary that I decided to go for Surgent almost immediately.

My name is Dawn Footer and I am a senior in the accounting program at The College at Brockport, SUNY. I currently possess a BA in secondary education, and will be eligible to sit for the CPA exam prior to actually receiving my accounting degree in May 2016.

Over the course of the past year I have looked into several CPA review programs. I found options at a variety of price points, but none provided the value that Surgent’s review program does. Surgent has created a program that puts the needs of the individual learner at center stage. The mini lectures, numerous practice questions and simulations, and software that adapts to each learner’s needs by tracking incorrect answers and providing additional practice are just three features that impressed me about this program. As a former educator, I believe this program is amazing way to prepare for the CPA exam..
